What Counts?

Compiled by Jenny Rough

80%: Americans who feel the economy is a significant source of stress.

1 out of 3: Americans who are worried about losing their jobs.

53%: Americans who are worried they will have to work longer due to dwindling retirement savings.

60%: People who report feelings of irritability and anger due to stress (many also feel fatigue, sleeplessness and depression).

1 in 4: Workers who have taken a “Mental Health Day” off work to cope with stress.

two-thirds: Americans who claim they are likely to seek help for stress (some are seeking therapy for “eco-anxiety”).

4: Times less likely an American will feel stress if he/she attends church, temple or mosque (and studies show you’ll live longer).
