Blue Alchemy presents a contemporary look at the use of Woad, a natural pigment produced by the plant, Isatis Tinctoria. Cultivated as a textile dye since the prehistoric era, it fell out of favor around the 1850s when replaced by synthetic, coal tar-based colors.
