Save Women; Save the World
Wow! Yeah! Thank you! Since, by happenstance, my eyes crossed the phrase a number of years ago that “education of women is the only consistent coefficient of lowering poverty,” I have been impressed with the simplicity of this effective way of addressing world problems.
I was always looking to see if anyone was going to pick up that information and do something with it. Thank you for giving it such attention in your article. (“Goodness for Hatred,” August CG editorial.)
Perhaps the method is slower than we would like, but we all know the story of the turtle and the hare. The effects of educating women will be far-reaching and profound, as women’s values are community and environmentally, as well as personally, oriented.
I am happy to know that this information has not gone entirely by the wayside and is being used by at least some of the powers that be.

Wind in our Sails
Thank you for running the fine Peter Asmus article (“Wind Catchers,” August CG ) on Wind Power advances in California. I particularly liked how you allowed the space, and the feel, of the chase. Peter was the co-author with me in 1990 of a Simon and Schuster book In Search of Environmental Excellence.
In the meanwhile, congratulations. I like the Home/News/Directory features of your webpage so much, I am requesting that my group reach out to you on back-links for both of our pages—if you deem that appropriate and useful.
— Bruce Piasecki, AHC Group, New York (Piasecki is the author of the forthcoming book, Better Products, Better World.)
